While communities offer neighborhood parks and other amenities, residents in Southwest Austin are also close to various lakes with various out-door activities, parks and trails.

Southwest Austin is included in the Austin Independent School District and many of the schools are some of the best in the district. There are private schools with-in the area and Austin is home to many private and public colleges and universities from which to choose. Some of these offer satellite campuses for convenience.
