West Austin is tree-lined streets featuring homes that have been around for a few generations or new and elegant designs with all the modern features. No matter what the design or age, these homes are impressive and stylish. They are part of the history and culture that is Austin. Located at the beginning edge of rolling tree covered hillsides and canyons, many with views of Lady Bird Lake or Lake Austin. It is no wonder that this area is highly sought out by locals and new comers alike. Most of the neighborhoods are smaller and seem more private than other areas. Many of the neighborhoods have a quality that feels as if it is a small community surrounded by nature, while only minutes away from all the vitality and excitement of a large city.
West Austin Amenities
Although the neighborhoods seem private and “away from it all” there is ample shopping, dining and other entertainment located nearby. Access to Loop 1 and Loop 360 offers a chance to venture to all of the other retail centers around Austin. Downtown Austin political center, businesses and nightlife is a short distance away. Lady Bird Lake and Lake Austin offer a multitude of parks, hiking and biking trails and water activities.
West Austin Education
Most of West Austin is included in the Austin ISD or the highly acclaimed Eanes ISD but some of the outer areas are in the acclaimed Leander ISD. Some of the district boundaries will overlap city limits and neighborhood boundaries can change. All information regarding school districts and school boundaries should be directed to the various school districts. Austin does offer a variety of private school facilities and a wide choice of colleges and universities both public and private. Some of the colleges and universities offer satellite campuses for more convenience.
